Two days ago I arrives in Siem reap. The city is incredibly touristic and far away from anything I have seen of Cambodia that far. In a nutshell: there isn’t anything you can’t get here (this includes cider, aka pre run nourishment for body, but mainly for the mind).
Yes, the mind.
No, arriving in Cambodia has not convinced me even the slightest that my attempt to run part of this beautiful yet poor country will be any easy. Especially not with a backpack. When I weight it back in london it was 5.5kg (without water). I tried this morning to get rid of even more stuff- one t-shirt has to go. 3 shirts for 4 weeks are a luxury anyway…isn’t it?
Nights are hot but compared to Thailand the mornings are relatively chilly (we are talking 23 degrees). However after 9am it’s hot. And so humid that even laundry never dries. You sweat just by walking around and it’s been perfect blue sky with an unforgiving sun.
So let’s go for a little run 😉
Tomorrow I will get up at 5am, have a bite, get a tuktuk to the main road towards pnhom penh (road nr6) and start.
If you see me running, say hi 😉
If you got some of that amazing siem reap cold ice cream on you, even better 😉
